How to recognize and report phishing scams
Protect yourself from fraudulent emails, texts, and calls pretending to be Halloway Bank & Trust.
We will never ask you to
- Share your full password, PIN, or one-time verification code by phone, email, or text
- Send money to "protect" or "verify" your account
- Install remote-access software on your computer or phone
Warning signs of phishing
- Urgent language ("Your account will be closed today")
- Misspelled sender addresses or suspicious links
- Requests to click a link and sign in on an unfamiliar website
- Unexpected attachments or payment requests
What to do if you suspect a scam
- Do not click links or open attachments.
- Forward suspicious emails to fraud@hallowaybank.com.
- Call us directly at 1-800-425-5696 using the number on your statement or card — not the number in the message.
If you shared information
